  • "PRACTICE"... w/o Practicing

    This is a BIG one.  Thanks again to science, we know our subconscious mind is unable to distinguish between reality and what we only imagine.  In many ways, this is the basis of Imagery and why it can be so powerful.  We aim to use this curious reality to a players utmost advantage.

    As crazy as it sounds – rehearsing something in our mind – whether an activity we’ve done before or one we hope to do – if done consistently – allows the subconscious (or the ‘SubC’  -as we refer to it inside the club) to lock it in.   So when the situation then comes up – it helps us to perform the task more precisely and with less effort.  Pretty cool.  

    In fact, this is one of the biggest features of our Program – our sessions offer more detailed, creative and engaging Imagery (guidance) than is typically seen in such programs. Offering more detail early on -and progressively less as the player becomes more familiar and “in touch” with the process.

  • Narrows the Talent Gap

    As players progress it becomes more about the mental game than the physical.  There comes a point in which everyone can throw hard, run fast and jump high.  The mental skills often become the difference in who plays, or sits.

    Early on, not only is the talent gap wider, but so is the difference even a little bit of mental training can make.  Even through high school, it’s not uncommon for a player to beat out a more talented teammate simply because they’ve developed a stronger mental game.

  • Positive Images Help Even the Score

    Studies show more than half of the many thousands of thoughts that flash through the mind each day are negative. This can’t help but harmfully affect our physiology and psychology.  Unfortunately, our brains are simply wired this way.  Feeding the mind positive images helps us stay positive and keep a healthier perspective.

    Our kids are more susceptible to this than anyone.  One reason poor play breeds more of the same.  Using positive affirmations – the Vizuplay program uses positive affirmations within the story/imagery – delivering it in a way that is not cheesy or forced. Also suggesting practical tools to help keep it positive in the heat of battle – to use when needed.
